Description: ? ConocoPhillips Information Technology (IT) provides technical services to the ConocoPhillips network.? The IT Business Analyst position Human Resources will be primarily responsible for meeting the customers? Information System needs. The Business Analyst will be accountable for translating business strategies into IT requirements and developing business requirements for IS services to help deliver value to Business Units. The position is also accountable to the IS function for advocacy of the IS policies, strategies, processes and practices. ? Responsibilities may include:

  • Engaging with the application software providers to ensure maintenance of the application is performed as required.
  • Planning and implementing application upgrades and maintenance updates, including communication of system changes and outage to the users.
  • Leading Business Analyst activities on IT projects for the business unit
  • Converting business requirements and plans into actionable IT services
  • Identifying and defines BU work processes and related IT systems and services and actively initiating???? improvements to the processes and systems
  • Working with clients to understand support issues and troubleshoot application issues in a timely manner.
  • Working with other IT organizations to ensure quality application support and delivery to end user.
  • Recommending and implementing IT solutions to improve business process performance
  • Utilizing knowledge of business and technical dependencies to ensure applications are built and maintained appropriately
  • Communicating with the BU on IT services, costs and needs
  • Managing the Long Range Plan for the BU through translating business needs/strategies into IT??? ?requirements and opportunities
  • Providing input to the budgeting process and obtains BU alignment
  • Maintaining relationships with contractors, software vendors, and software integrators
  • Working with the BU, Service Management and IT Service Delivery to develop and document SLAs
  • Providing technical support for Corporate Staffs ITSS systems with specific responsibility for Human Resources related global applications.
  • Engaging with application software providers to ensure application maintenance is performed as required.
  • Prioritizing and managing application requests with focus on delivering outstanding customer services
  • Participating on project teams to ensure proper alignment of IT solutions to the business requirements as well as IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining confidential information.

?? Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor?s Degree
  • Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience in an IT Business Analyst role
Preferred:
  • Bachelor?s Degree in computer science, MIS, or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources systems such as Learning Management, Career or Performance Management systems; experience with HR ERP (SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday)
  • Results ? oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Analytical and problem solving ability ? capable of researching unstructured business problems, identifying key people, defining critical business requirements and needs, defining solutions reflecting both information systems and human factor requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects
  • Able to work independently, self-motivated with strong customer orientation
  • Ability to develop strong working network with solution analysts working similar business problems
  • Ability to see ?big picture? in business and systems terms
  • Ability to adapt to and incorporate new techniques and technologies
  • Skilled at communicating and documenting new solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with an eagerness to learn and demonstrated ability to influence
  • Customer focused with the ability to build relationships with vendors, business groups and other internal resources
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing new technologies into the Enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and process mapping sessions
  • Builds positive relationships
  • Demonstrated? independent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with organizational change management methodology and tools
  • Works well in a team environment and builds and maintains positive working relationships in a multi-tasking environment
